Dr. Michael Cope has been working with The Woman’s Clinic since 1991. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. His residency training was completed at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and he is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Professionally, Dr. Cope is known for his compassionate bedside manner, his passion for obstetrics, and his surgical technical expertise. He is extremely well-versed in all types of gynecological surgery:
“I’m passionate about using minimally invasive surgical techniques to solve problems and get women back to normal living, especially after some have suffered for a long time. Often, I see a patient back 10 days after a robotic hysterectomy, and they look fantastic and feel great!”
During his 25 years in practice with The Woman’s Clinic, Dr. Cope has had the opportunity to learn from and work with a number of very talented doctors and medical personnel. As the Arkansas Vice-Chair of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Dr. Cope has been able to return the favor as a mentor and teacher for other physicians around the state, allowing them to shadow him in the clinic, during deliveries, and on surgery cases.
Personally, Dr. Cope loves to travel, spend time at the lake with his family, and attend Razorback games in the fall. His family and community are the cornerstones of his life. Dr. Cope is married to the lovely Ashley Cope—an art teacher at Pulaski Academy—and they have four boys together. They attend St. Andrew’s Church and are supporters of The Rep, The Arkansas Art Center, Women and Children First, and Soaring Wings Ranch.
